Premium Golo Size 10 Crochet Thread - Light Cyan (251) for Hand Knitting & Crocheting Projects - Perfect for Doilies, Lacework, and DIY Crafts

The color palette this thread comes in is so vast which is great. It seems other thread brands give you more but for this project one ball was all I needed. The thread itself seems like it will hold up well over time not too frail or breakable. I like the sheen as well, my first time working with a mercerized cotton. It was also my first time working with thread at all so when starting this I was thinking "What am I getting myself into?" but after the first few rounds it was just like normal but with a significantly smaller hook. They also provided a 1.25mm hook included with the ball I ordered which I wasn't expecting, so thanks! Overall I'd recommend this thread for anyone looking at doing a thread crochet project.Pros: Absolutely beautiful shine, very soft, wide range of colorsCons:- The colors I received were darker/richer than the colors in the photos: I wanted very icy, pale shades of blue and I received something more akin to a cheery robin's egg. Still lovely colors, but not what I expected I had ordered (Light Orchid 361 & Sky Blue 364).- This thread is definitely not a standard #10 crochet thread: it is thinner, closer to a #20.- Small spools: 250 yards. This is comparable to DMC Cebelia, but it feels tiny after using Aunt Lydias (350y).I have been crocheting about 45 years or more now. I started doilies with sewing thread which created beautiful doilies and quite a bit smaller than average. My mother in law instructed me in how to continue my patterns into larger pieces and they are lovely but colorless. She learned from her Swedish grandmother. We had black and white books with patterns because there was only white doilies. Well this green color is super and the sheen is the best I have ever seen. These days I can't manage the sewing thread and size 10 is as thin a thread I can use. Older age and arthritic fingers are such a bore. I found the size to be consistent with any other brand and the price is just fine for thread this lovely. I have ordered several more colors and the green again and I expect the quality to be the same. The color I actually received is correctly labeled Emerald Blue 6-661 but the color is a dark peacock blue, not the light icy blue pictured. If you want to order a specific color, go to the thumbnails and then choose that color from the drop box. The thread is fine, a little thinner than Red Heart's #10 but that's great for me because I'm crocheting Barbie clothes.I ordered this because I was looking for a very bright scarlet-colored crochet thread, as indicated by the picture. Unfortunately, once it arrived, the actual crochet thread was much darker red, like every other red seen on store shelves. It will work for my project, but not quite what I wanted.I purchased one ball of Golo Crochet thread size 10 in white to try the brand. Golo ten is a might finer than DMC 10. The thread is flexible and a pleasure to work with.I do not know if it was a happy accident or good planning on their part. The ball was wound in such a way that a strand long enough to fit the wrist through looped up out of the center and would allow one to hang the ball on ones wrist white working the thread from the outside (until one got to the end of the ball and needed to work the thread forming the wrist loop). Cool!!This is a good quality crochet thread. I absolutely love the colors. However, the pictures make it look like there is more product than there actually is. It was difficult to find the yardage of it.Beware this is not size 6 but size 10 thread as printed on the label. and the color army green is a much lighter green than the picture.
