I've used several types of crochet hooks and they all leave me with sore hands and fingers. I can use this type for hours with no issues. It's light and I guess the way the handle is shaped makes me not have to grip it as hard as others. I love these and I'm working on getting them in all sizes.I love the length but cant grip. I have arthritis, carpal tunnel etc. I cant hold these hooks like I can the amour ones they make. Many people love these but if you have any type of hand pain I wouldn't recommend. The small black part isn't soft to me. Quality is good.Have several collections but Clover (Armor, Etimo, Soft Touch) are the best and most preferred. Whatever else I have, I return to them as the standard. Yes, they’re ergonomic but most of all, the hooks are flawless, never catch on any fiber, and make crafting more enjoyable. Best at any price….Great qualityEasy to use if you have arthritis. The 4.0 has a slightly shorter shaft and it feels like it will give me a blister if I continue to use it.I’m new to crochet and a pattern required 4.5 and 4.0, the 4.5 is fine, and the majority of the pattern went very well, but when I had to switch to the 4.0 hook, it’s just enough too short that it hits the side of my palm continuously. Why shorten the shaft? I’m disappointed, and it’s outside of my return date. I’ll buy a differnt 4.0 with a longer shaft.I have the 6mm also and e joy using both of themI do a lot of crochet and my current 3.5mm hook was wearing out on the handle. With a large project to make, I thought I would treat myself. Well, what a disappointment- yes the hook is easy to use, and works well with the thread, but it isn't even as long as my hand. The end was digging in to the palm of my hand and causing a blister. I did try to like it, but have given up. I have never had a problem like this with any of my other 20 or so hooks! This crochet hook is not for me. I have rheumatoid arthritis and was looking for a hook which was comfortable to use but the end of the handle sticks into the palm of my hand leaving it sore. The handle is not long enough and flattens out at the end into hard plastic and because of my condition I obviously hold a hook differently to other people. It’s certainly good quality and very smooth to use, no snagging. I will continue my search for something more comfortable. It has very good reviews from other people which is why I bought it but obviously we all have different needs. Why is a 3.75mm hook not included in any of the crochet hook sets I've bought! This is so frustrating as sometimes it just has to be that size for the yarn I'm working with.Hooks can also be expensive to buy individually but I needed this one so bit the bullet. It's just arrived so I've worked a little swatch just to get the feel of the hook. I've not worked with a flat handle before but this is quite comfortable. It's very light and easy to use and the yarn just glides over the metal end. My only criticism is that it's a bit shorter than my other hooks, and even the other Clovers I have, but they're a different design – Amour – which have the heavier, rounded handle. Unfortunately the only one of this size was more than twice the price, which I'm not prepared to pay at the moment.A good quality hook at a competitive price.I have a set of ergonomic long crochet hooks bought off Amazon which are fabulous to use for extended periods but unfortunately there was not a 5mm hook. Based on good reviews I bought this Clover soft touch. The hook action is very smooth to use but sadly I found that after only 30 minutes, the other end was wearing a sore place on the left side of my palm. Having examined my grip I seem to hold my hook like a knife rather than pen which may assist others considering whether to buy a Clover hook.Anyway It looks like I shall have to seek out another hook as this one definitely doesn't suit me.On the plus side, it does seem to be well made.I decided to upgrade my original Clover hooks. Originally bought my hooks in the late 60’s (as a kid learning to crochet) and still incredible hooks, working hard and well. I purchased this one as I wanted to try one with a grip for a current project. I am thrilled to bits with it. The quality is still fantastic, extremely comfortable to hold and gliding through my project with ease.I am glad these hooks have not lost their quality. Yes a bit pricier than some other brands, but so worth it. Highly recommend Clover and I have already ordered more sizes.
